About this site

This page exists to answer four questions plainly: who is behind this site, why does it exist, how is it funded, and what is it not?

Who is behind this site

This site is published as Irish Gambling Rules — an independent editorial project operated by a single owner. Irish Gambling Rules is not a registered company, partnership, or other legal entity, and we make no claim to corporate status. We are an editorial project under a publishing brand; nothing on this site implies otherwise. The project operates independently of any gambling operator, regulator, advocacy group, or political party.

Editorial work is attributed to Mariia Magus. Mariia Magus is an editorial contributor for Irish Gambling Rules. Her quality-assurance background supports the site's source-checking, editorial review, and content quality workflow. Her iGaming research focuses on public-source gambling regulation, responsible-gambling resources, SEO, and compliance-aware content planning. She does not provide legal advice or licensed compliance advice. The public author profile lives at /authors/mariia-magus/. We do not claim legal, clinical, licensed compliance, or operator-side experience; regulatory pages are built from cited primary sources and are not legal advice.

If this site ever becomes a registered legal entity, the change will be disclosed here and recorded in a visible editorial update before any related claim appears on the site.

Why this site exists

Ireland’s gambling landscape changed twice between 2024 and 2026 — first the Gambling Regulation Act 2024 replaced 70-year-old legislation, and then the new Gambling Regulatory Authority of Ireland began standing up. Some coverage of those changes is operator-funded (“here are the best gambling sites for you”) or too brief to explain what the rule change actually means.

This site sits between those. It is independent informational coverage with sources, dates, and plain-English explanations. The benefit to the reader is that you can come away with an understanding of what changed and what it means, without being pitched at.

How this site is funded today

The site currently receives no gambling-affiliate revenue. We currently have no affiliate relationships, no operator agreements, and no referral arrangements with any gambling business. We carry no operator advertising. We are not paid by the GRAI, the Department of Justice, or any operator group.

The site is currently financed by the publisher’s own time. If any form of monetisation is introduced in future, it will be disclosed clearly on every affected page, and the affiliate disclosure will appear above the fold — not buried in the footer.

What this site is not today

We are explicit about this because gambling-adjacent sites have a reputation for being something they are not.

What you can trust about what we publish

A note on what could change in future

This site is currently informational. Any future commercial coverage — for example, reviews of GRAI-licensed operators — would happen only on the explicit conditions that (a) qualified legal advice confirms an independent review model is permitted under the Gambling Regulation Act 2024, and (b) the GRAI has issued the relevant licences. If that commercial scope ever opens, the editorial standards described in Methodology will become more, not less, strict. If those conditions never resolve, the site stays informational.
