Editorial policy
This page explains how Irish Gambling Rules produces, reviews, corrects, and discloses content. It exists so readers can judge the editorial process directly instead of relying on generic trust claims.
Who writes and reviews content
Current content is written and reviewed by Mariia Magus, the named editorial contributor for this project. The active public author page is /authors/mariia-magus/.
- Writing: source collection, drafting, and page updates.
- Reviewing: factual verification against cited sources, scope checks, and publication review.
- Editorial accountability: corrections, reader complaints, and scope decisions.
We do not describe this as a newsroom, medical panel, or legal review board. Pages about Irish gambling regulation are informational and source-led. They are not legal advice.
Source hierarchy
For regulatory or compliance claims, this is the order of trust:
- Primary law and statutory material — the Irish Statute Book, the Gambling Regulation Act 2024, and relevant statutory instruments.
- Primary regulator and government sources — the GRAI, Department of Justice, and other named public bodies.
- Advertising and consumer-protection rules — ASAI materials and other public-code sources.
- Named secondary commentary — legal commentary or public explainers that link back to the primary source.
If a secondary source conflicts with the primary source, the primary source wins.
Correction policy
If we discover that a page is wrong, outdated, incomplete, or materially misleading, we:
- verify the issue against the underlying source;
- update the page as quickly as practical;
- change the page’s last reviewed date; and
- record a visible correction note on the page when the change is material.
We do not treat silent rewrites as a trust feature. If a reader flags an issue through the Contact page, we review it manually.
Conflicts of interest disclosure
Under the current editorial scope, this site has no affiliate relationships, no operator agreements, no referral arrangements, and no paid operator placements. No current page is written to support operator signups or commissions.
If that changes in future, the change must be disclosed clearly on the affected pages, in the site methodology, and in the broader commercial-scope documentation before related content goes live.
AI use disclosure
AI may be used as a research and drafting tool inside our editorial workflow. It is not treated as a publisher, a subject-matter expert, or an automatic approval layer.
- AI can help organise notes, suggest structures, and draft candidate wording.
- A human editor reviews all published text before it is approved.
- We do not publish AI-generated gambling content without human review.
- We do not use AI to invent sources, credentials, testimonials, or first-hand experience.
Commercial scope policy
This site is currently informational. Commercial gambling content remains blocked unless the following conditions are met together:
- the legal and compliance basis for that content is documented;
- the publisher explicitly approves the broader scope;
- affected pages carry clear affiliate and commercial disclosures; and
- operator/licence claims are verified against public sources.
Until those conditions are met, this site does not publish operator recommendations, bonus pages, or affiliate comparisons.
Editorial complaints and contact
For corrections, editorial complaints, or source challenges, email [email protected].
Useful complaints include:
- outdated law or regulator references;
- broken source links;
- misleading wording or missing context; and
- disclosure issues.
We prefer specific citations or screenshots where possible so the issue can be verified quickly.
